Your first conversation

Since 0.1.0

Let’s hold a first conversation. This walks through sending a message, reading the reply, and the handful of things you can do around it.

  1. Open an assistant (from a Receptionist suggestion or the Assistants list).

  2. Type your question in the message box at the bottom and send it.

  3. The reply streams in as it’s written. If it’s going the wrong way, select Stop to cancel it and try again.

Many assistants can read a document and answer questions about it:

  1. Attach a file from the message box, or pick one you’ve already added to your library.

  2. Ask about it, “summarise this” or “what are the key risks?”.

  3. Answers cite the document, so you can check where each point came from.

Under each reply you can give a thumbs up or down, and report a serious problem if you hit one. This feedback helps your administrators improve the assistants over time.

  • Your chats are saved. Find past conversations under Chats, and search across them.
  • Some assistants can search the web or read images: if an assistant has those abilities, you’ll see them offered in the conversation.
  • Draft, don’t overshare. Follow your organisation’s usage policy for what’s appropriate to put into a conversation.
