Adding knowledge

Assistant Creator Manage assistants Since 0.1.0

An assistant’s knowledge base is the set of documents it can draw on to answer, grounded, with citations, rather than from the model’s memory alone.

The Knowledge tab of the assistant editor, showing documents and options.

  1. Open the assistant’s Knowledge section.

  2. Upload files, add from the library, paste text, or generate a document with AI to draft one on the spot.

  3. Each document is indexed for retrieval. Watch its status, and use re-index if you replace a file.

Instead of copying files in, connect SharePoint sites as a knowledge source. Ajutant keeps the assistant’s knowledge in step with the site, and retrieval respects each user’s permissions, people only see answers from documents they’re allowed to read.

Missing a document you need? Use Generate with AI to draft a knowledge-base article from a short description, review it, and attach it, without leaving the editor.

Under Knowledge → Options you can tune retrieval (how many passages, how strict the match) and choose the embedding model used to index documents. Defaults are sensible; change them only with a reason.
